About the Artist

 

Zade Pollock was born in Lewis County and raised in Pulaski, TN. 

He served in the U.S. Navy for four years during World War II.

 

After the war, Zade made the decision to follow his dream, which led him to enroll in The Ringling School of Fine Arts in Sarasota, FL.  Prior to his graduation from Ringling, Zade won the Stanley C. Knott Award in the Florida Federation Art Association Exhibition.  

 

As he made a name for himself in New York City’s art world, Zade was accepted into membership of the prestigious American Watercolor Society and Allied Artists of America, Inc.   He participated regularly at the Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit in NYC, winning numerous awards, including First Place in Watercolors.  He was commissioned to paint the cover for the 53rd Annual Washington Square Exhibit.  Many of his paintings were selected for traveling exhibits and have hung in major galleries throughout the U.S.  His work is included in the collections of many prominent New Yorkers. 

 

Zade Pollock died on November 6, 2002 at age 81, after living and painting in New York City for 51 years.  He left behind an incredible collection of watercolors.
